Back to Writing…

I’ve been getting back to writing here and this throughout this year… mostly just jotting down little thoughts on my phone. Often when I am traveling, or just in some random moment of life when something strikes me. I thought it might be nice to get some of these out there, and the blog here seemed like a good place for it:

Nearing Fall

We are nearing the time when migrations are happening and clouds are softly blanketing the skies. My favorite time of year. The crickets are still here a while longer. They have been the constant thing to sooth my weary soul these past summer months. Summer has felt heavy. The world feels heavy. Our country is starting to feel like one gigantic trailer park that we are stuck in the middle of.

... But there are still crickets. And foggy mornings. And migration patterns. And Monarchs visiting our first milkweed in the garden. And my daughter is falling in love with her own life in new ways. Digging through time in the earth. And all of those things help pull me out of the trailer park feeling of the world right now. They give me hope, and God do I need it.
