From Maine to Utah, you’ll find many landscapes hidden in these pieces – and with them, my memories of finding wonder wherever I am In my life. Experiences of discovering tiny worlds in tide pools at Mount Desert Island. Or watching my husband and daughter brought to tears when they saw the Grand Canyon for the first time. Or endless hours spent in the woods here in Ohio. No matter what is happening in my life, nature is always there to inspire. Woven together with my art over the years, these moments build a tapestry of the life I have shared the natural world.

Each piece from this series encompasses a dance between handmade and digital processes. The initial layers were some of my naturally dyed eco prints mounted onto panels. Clear wax and old topographic maps were then laid over top as image transfers. The topmost layers were created with botanical shapes I cut out from tape before painting over with white wax. When the tape is removed, it reveals the beautiful hidden worlds underneath. Each work is a celebration – an honoring of the places and memories that have shaped who I am today.
