2020
Tree Secrets is an encaustic series I created in 2020. As we faced a new and uncertain global situation, I found solace in the trees. I went for hikes weekly, each time finding human stories in the natural world that surrounded me. Stories about resilience and flexibility. Reminders of the things that keep us most rooted in life. About strength, patience, hope, perseverance and community.
In the midst of nature, I found a world of wisdom… endless lessons about what it means to live fully in times of struggle. This work is a reflection of that process and of the lessons learned throughout 2020. Tree Secrets was recently shown at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
